We ended up getting the house that we were looking and and it is brilliantly nice to have a house all to ourselves.
On the first night we stayed here, Elena managed to sleep the entire night in her own big girl bed all by herself--no fuss putting her down, no struggle having to lay beside her until she was asleep. In fact, it is almost too easy. I think that after some adjustment, there have gotto be glitches becasue could parenting always be this easy?? No, I didnt think so.
But in terms of good things, Julia has also seemed to settle down. No obvious seizure activity and only a few nights of odd waking and inability to express exactly what she wants to say to us. All in all, I think it's is going rather well.
We are slowly sorting through our hastily packed boxes, packing teh shed in the back yard with items for the garage sale that we will invariably have in July or August once school is done and I can focus on settling all the stuff we are keeping.
The kids are thrilled beyond belief to have a backyard to play in. And what a yard it is! There is a deck and a garden and enough room left over to have our playhouse, a pool, the sandbox and tons of running room besides.
I can walk 5 minutes to work, except that I have to drive the kids to their dayhome. But for the convenience of it, you cant go wrong.
There are, of course, some things we'd like to change--the sickening mustardy yellow of the master bedroom and the awful pastelly green in the kitchen with the strawberry lace curtains and horrible floral border comes to mind. Perhaps I can have my Tuscan kitchen at last!
