So, things have been busy. If that isn't an understatement, I don't know what is.
Here's a quick and dirty update on how things are:
ELENA-
-is talking a blue streak
-can count up to 14
-can tell me what she wants in complete sentences
-can tell me what shapes are which (cir-toe, skare, ti-ando, ek-tango, obal, 'tar)
-can sing Happy Birthday :)
-has a memory like a steel trap
-is starting to potty train herself (!)
-has no childcare as of September because the dayhome lady was told she couldnt have mixed age groups at her place
JULIA-
-is starting pre-kindergarten in September
-has begun to draw recognizable people
-knows how to write her name
-is starting to recognize that letters have sounds and is asking what things say and what letters they start with(pre-reading!!)
-can almost reach the tap in the bathroom without a stool (!!)
-was diagnosed in July with Benign Childhood Epilepsy with Rolandic Spikes (BECRS) afte the sleep deprived EEG she had on July 4th came up with abnormal spikes.
DWAYNE-
-started his electrical apprenticeship
-built a wall in the basement bedroom
-built a new door with Neill for the laundry room
ME-
-attended an AP Summer Institute in Victoria
-visited with people in the Land of Warmer than Here (YAY!!)
-went to a wedding (beautiful!)
-Finished 3 scrapbooks since May
-Lesson planning for AP English, English 10-1, ESL (all levels), Blast class (BLEH), and LA 9 for the fall semester
On top of the normal household things, we have also been dogsitting for friends who are out of town for a wedding.
And it hasn't even been 6 weeks of summer.
