Home Again Jiggety Jig

Home again and so glad to be out of the haze of the in-law house.

Not that I mind the in-laws, you see. I just hate that there is always a haze around everything from morning to night. Seriously, for people who take enough vitamins to choke a small horse every day in the hopes of remaining "healthy" it amazes me that the logic of quitting smoking escapes them. I'm just saying it baffles me, OK?

Anyway, last night was the last of the relative visits, Dwayne's oldest "half-sister" and family who actually turned out to be relatively and surprisingly pleasant. I say surprisingly because this woman is not typically a nice person to be around and I only feel better about thinking that because her very own mother expressed her surprise about how nice her daughter was being. I know, a strange thing, perhaps. Or just typical stuff for this particular family.

I am so sick of big family dinners--roast beef one day, ham the next, turkey the following. Ugh. So we ordered Chinese take out as soon as we unloaded the car. Ahhh now that was good stuff. Of course we ate in front of the TV. Why wouldnt we?

Just before we left, Julia fell into the coffee table and hit the corner of her forehead resulting in a huge gooseegg bump that immediately swelled into a lovely shade of purple. The swelling has gone dwn and all she is left with now is a bruise but for awhile there, it was really ugly. One more restless night and then a greasy Marlowe breakfast and we were off to make a "quick" installation of MIL's new computer in her gift shop. Except it didn't work. Two hours later it still wasnt working. So finally hubby just re-installed the old one and we left in a big huff with cranky Julia all the way down the highway. Thankfully she finally agreed to fall asleep andthen woke after a bit, entertained herself nicely in the backseat and then obligingly fell asleep again. We only had to drug her once for the nasty cough she picked up after 5 days in a smoky haze (ahem, I mean, she was getting sick a bit before we left, to be fair) and now she seems to be really happy to be home again.

i thin I am going to have a hot leisurely soak in the bathttub while hubby watches more West Wing. :)
