xeryfyn's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Staying Home Oh ho, so it is with some irony that I am writing today from home. After whining yesterday about how I didn't want to make the trip, we ended up not making it. When we finally picked the car up from Canadian Tire this morning (after being more than slightly irked that they didn't call us last night as promised) we discovered that an engine light which had not previously been on, coincidently happened to come on after they serviced our engine. They choise not to tell hubby this, however, leaving him to discover it as he drove out of the parking lot. upon returning and inquiring why there was suddenly more work to be done on the car, they told him that it had come on during one of thoer test drives but that they didn't want to tell us what could be wrong unless we forked over another $80 for a diagnostic test. Well, as you might imagine we chose to go elsewhere to have the problem looked at, leaving us stranded in the city. Which I suppose, might be for the best in the long run since Julia slept so horribly last night I couldnt even believe that I survived the night. We caught up today on all the chores that had been patiently awaiting our attention-some laundry done with my sister's help, re-arranging the basement furniture to be more conducive to Julia-running traffic and starting to tape the edges of Julia's room to prepare it to be painted. I suppose that it was nice to have time to relax in a weekend that we thought we had none and, on the upside, I think there is a very, very strong likelihood that hubby will get a washing machine for his birthday from his parents. Is that a sign of growing up? Dreaming of major appliances for birthday gifts? sigh, but that is one less thing to have to worry about so for that I am certainly glad. 8:48 p.m. - 2004-03-13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
