xeryfyn's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Year A new year is upon us and as I look back, as most of us are wont to do at this time of year, I cant believe that only a year has passed. I feel like so much has happened and time has alternately crept and flown by. Last January, I was in the throes of pregnancy sickness, dealing with the bastard in the house and the witch under the stairs. It was incredibly cold and intensely stressful and I am glad that we have moved on into a better place. February brought decisions of paint colours for our new place, more stress about moving and the happy news that my in-laws have given us a moving van to make life easier. Fast forwarding past all the pregnancy blehs, the pelvic separations and the companionable nausea, and the moving and settling in of new house, to the amazing birth of my second daughter. What a surprise to find out she was Elena and not Jacob after all! And now, in the blink of an eye, she is 5 months old, able to sit up on her own (almost expertly) laugh with her sister, grab toys and walk forward in the walker(!!!) Julia is precocious as ever, able to sing the alphabet, identify up to 10 letters by sight, count to 10 (fairly accurately most of the time) and has finally figured out the colours consistently. She continues to amaze me with her knowledge of animals, "No mom, that's not a lizard, its an iguana " Like, duh. We are looking forward to another year of amazing adventures and exciting times.
